Appraised Value*:
Agreed Starting eBay Price*:

* It is understood that Appraised Value is just an estimate of what the item MAY sell for. The Agreed Starting eBay Price will be the price listed on the auction as a starting bid, and it is possible that the item may sell for this minimum price.

Fees and Commission

Seller agrees to the following fees and commissions:

  • Up Front Listing/Appraisal Fee (non-refundable, cash upfront): $25.00
  • Extensive Cleanup/Setup Fee, if needed (non-refundable, cash upfront): $25.00 (minimal wiping of guitar prior to photos is free)
  • Relisting fee, if necessary (after two unsuccessful attempts, deducted from buyer payment): $15.00
  • Successful Sale Fees (deducted from buyer payment): 7% of FV
  • Shipping Fees: Paid by buyer
  • My Commission: 20% of FV, minimum of $100

Estimated Final Payment and Fees

If your item sells for the Agreed Starting eBay Price listed above, this is what the fees and final payment to you will look like (this assumes there are no additional cleaning fees or relisting fees):

  • Upfront listing fee: $25.00 (paid in cash prior to listing)
  • Successful Sale Fee: $XX.00
  • Commission: $XX.00
  • Total fees paid by you: $XXX.00
  • Check sent to you after 10 business days: $XXX.00
  • Your total "profit": $XX.00

Services Provided

These are the services I provide in return for the listing fee and commission:

  • Visually appraise your item and determine a starting bid price.
  • Wipe clean the item and take up to 12 pictures for use in the auction.
Note: Extensive cleaning, if needed, requires an additional, non-refundable $25 fee.
  • Write the auction listing copy.
  • Post the auction to eBay (www.eBay.com, the US-targeted version of their website)
  • Store the item on my premises during the auction.
  • If necessary (and according to terms) relist the item if it does not sell successfully the first time.
  • Upon sale, collect payment from buyer, pack and ship item to buyer, track and confirm delivery, and then disburse buyer payment (less fees and commission) to seller.
Note: Terms allow for about 10 business days to disburse funds, though in some cases it may take longer (if there are shipping or other buyer disputes).

Terms and Conditions

As my minimum commission is $100, it is not worth it to you to sell a guitar through me that I appraise for less than about $400. I reserve the right to reject an item for listing if I feel it won't make a reasonable sale price or if I think its condition or authenticity is questionable, or for any other reason.

I will make every effort to determine a fair starting price for your instrument, based on my knowledge of eBay history and my own expertise in the value of vintage Ibanez and related-brand guitars. You will have the opportunity to accept that appraisal and terms of listing before you pay the initial listing fee.

I require proof of ownership of an item before I list it. In the contract you sign with me, you will specifically certify that you are the full and outright owner of the item and that the item has no liens against it. You have to show me valid ID (two forms) upon signing the service contract. I show the serial numbers of all guitars I sell directly in my eBay listings.

Auctions are offered to US residents only, to avoid the issues around international shipping, customs, duties, VAT, etc.

I sell "as-is" so all sales to buyers are final. I do not offer money-back guarantees. However, from time to time, buyers don't pay, or they dispute payment to eBay for items that they buy. That's one of the reasons it takes 10 business days to give you your money, and why it may, in rare cases, take longer than that. In the event of a rescinded sale where the item is not shipped, you do not get a refund of your listing fee, though you will not be charged any of the sales fees or commissions. On the outside chance that your item sells, I ship it, you get paid, and then after the fact the item somehow still comes back to me due to a dispute resolution with eBay and/or the buyer, you agree to take the item back and refund to me the amount paid to you for the sale.

Any guitar abandoned after a non-sale (defined as you not picking it up from me within 90 days of email notification to you of a non-sale) will be considered to be my property.

"Extensive cleaning" is defined as any amount of preparation the guitar needs for proper photographing, and can include providing new strings, cleaning of hardware, neck preparation, removal of stickers, hard polishing of finish, or other extensive removal of dirt and grime.

This agreement is the entirety of our agreement and you are entitled to no damages above and beyond fees you have paid to me, and you agree to this and agree to hold me harmless for any disputes that arise between you and any subsequent buyer. If your item does not sell, you get it back. You do not get back any of the non-refundable fees.
