Do you live in the greater Seattle, WA area (including the East side) and have a vintage or otherwise desirable guitar, bass or other music-related item that you want to sell on eBay, but don't know where to begin? It's complicated and time-consuming to create your own eBay account and its companion PayPal account. The fees are difficult to understand, and the intricacies of listing items, promoting them, and successfully selling them can be hard to master. And once you do sell the item, you have to deal with packing and shipping it to the buyer. That's where I come in. I'm a vintage guitar collector and eBay seller who combines expertise in two areas my knowledge of vintage instruments and my experience with eBay and PayPal to help you sell your item quickly and for a fair value. What's more, because I actually have FUN selling my own musical items on eBay, I'm willing to offer you my services at a rate that is well below what other storefront-based eBay selling services (such as "I Sold It") charge. Storefront reseller commissions (on top of the eBay fees) can be 33% to 40% of the final sale value, depending on the franchise and location. (Commissions can be lower on higher-priced items, but that varies by franchise and location, also.) I define my services and fees in great detail below, but up front, here are the basics:
For a guitar that sells for $1,000 on eBay, your total "profit" would be $130 to $200 MORE with me than with a storefront reseller. You also get the benefit of my expertise. I know vintage guitars and basses, and I know how to market them to eBay buyers. I know what buyers are interested in. I know the kinds of listings they respond to. I take informative, yet flattering photographs. I speak to collectors and players in the language they understand, and that translates into more attention to your auction, and higher bids. Finally, I'm not in business to buy your valuable guitar from you at pennies on the dollar and then resell it myself for a large profit. I make money only if you make money. If you do have a rare and valuable guitar, you'll get the lion's share of the sale, no matter how high the final sale price. Of course, I'd love to sell your guitar for $10,000 too, since I'd make a good (and fair) profit. My eBay ReputationI am a trusted eBay seller (cevans999) with over 150 successful transactions and a 100% seller rating, and value my trust rating and my relationship with my buyers. I will not misrepresent the model, value or condition of any guitar or other item I list for sale. In fact, I will go out of my way to make sure all defects are clearly shown and described. View some of the guitars I've sold in the past year on eBay. ServicesThese services are offered in the greater Seattle, WA area. You have to bring the guitar to me, so if you're willing to drive to me (I live just southeast of Everett), I am willing to evaluate your guitar for sale. I evaluate and then list your guitar on eBay for sale to US residents, in a 7-day auction at a starting price that I set based on my expertise with vintage guitar values. I take the photos, write and post the listing, and manage the entire auction using my own eBay and PayPal accounts. I hold the guitar during the auction in case prospective buyers require additional photographs or more information the item. I provide a receipt to you for holding onto the guitar. (You can choose to hold onto the guitar yourself during the auction, but that can limit my ability to respond to specific bidder questions.) If the guitar sells, I handle boxing and shipping of the item. I deduct the fees and commissions, as itemized below, from the payment sent by the buyer, and I give you the balance of the sale in the form of a check from my business (chucke.com). I don't pay out in cash. Payment is made to you in approximately 10 business days after successful buyer payment to me. This is necessary to ensure that buyer's funds clear into PayPal and that the guitar is shipped and received by the buyer. If the guitar does not sell, I will relist it once more at no charge. If it fails to sell the second time, you can pay an additional fee to relist it a second time. I reserve the right to recommend you adjust the sale price of the item before I will relist it for the second time. If the guitar does not sell, you are responsible for picking it up from me. Charges
